late night discovery

I stumbled upon this website before heading to bed and I just couldn't resist.  I thought drawing with a mouse would be soooooo much harder, but SURPRISE! not bad at all...

so after you draw something you get to swap it for something someone else has drawn - which is neat I think.  Clever little title on this one.

Go draw your own here
Good night good night!

Just imagine...

I have started on buffing up my portfolio because all it has in it are school projects. Blah.  I am only working on preliminary sketches so far but I wanted to share what i've been working on

I was inspired by a million different things (as always).  I am loving the breton stripe. Think: classic Parisian silhouette with edge.  I wanted these girls to have an attitude but to be comfy.  I love stripes so I wanted to use those for my patterns to mix with tweed, fur and silk.

sorry about the picture quailty! I promise to start scanning....

Girl 1: Breton Strip top with Harem pants, cowl neck scarf and Awesome bag
Girl 2: Her favorite men's dress shirt with highwaisted tweed pants
Girl 3: Silk dress w/mirco-pleated skirt paired with a striped cardi + belt!

I am unsure of the middle girls outfit.  Imagine her vest like this fabulous furry vest:

I feel like that makes a difference. But, your comments and suggestions are welcome.
This may sound weird but I'm excited to draw all the technical flat sketches for these designs!
It just started raining. Wish I could stay home and draw......

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

After the last email blast (of the 'latest' trends) I was interested to see what was coming this week.........

well, I'm not sure if this is better or, if it is worse. . . . I struggled while looking at these photos. WTF shopbop is still on.

Sketchtastic

Feeling a little cooped up today, so I ventured outside for some green inspiration and fresh mid-August air. Definitely helped the creative vibe and such.

I love using a softer lead pencil to sketch like a 3B or 4B, it allows for more movement and ease across the paper (image that said as I'm swaying back and forth with my hands in the air creating a hippie-like motion). Ha!! Yay for Sunday afternoon drawing time.

Miss Angie Harmon in her Dior by John Galliano just knocked my socks off. Too bad she wasn't wearing the matching elbow length gloves, so vintage and glam. Speaking of Mr. Galliano, what is he up to these days??

PS. seriously awesome

Do you know Blue Logan? because you should. (and just in case your wondering. yes his first name is really Blue)

why, hello ladies!!!!!

Discovered him while playing around online the other day
Check out more on his website http://www.bluelogan.co.uk/

Paint the town red

Red lips are never out of style in my opinion. They are the epitome of fabulousness . I fell in love with this model and her look.

I usually never draw faces because.................... i think they are hard. So i decided after a nice cup of coffee to just draw some ladies WITH faces this time.

listening to Sigur Rós and loving today.

Robots in the Desert

LOVE this look. The necklace is what really caught my eye and then her pose/attitude inspired a new look.

Sexiness. Love the metallics, texture, and shapes.

I love sketching stuff like that.....

I love Mr. Richard Haines. He is a wonderful men's designer that started with perry, calvin and blass (yes, that is how he refers to them). I watched this video and fell in love even more!

You can see more wonderfulness on his blog, which I must admit, I usually look at daily to see some cool NYC style. The way that he describes fashion and his blog is AMAZING. for realz.

Coloring outside the lines

My little drawing area is finally set up and ready to go! No more excuses!

Getting set up today

This is as hip as my drawing corner can get....

So I wanted to experiment with some new and different styles of sketching and this is the first one. Penelope Rolland from Paris, France really inspired with her unique ink and watercolor style.

Here's my interpretation of this look... the ink part was a little tricky for me to get a handle on.

Overall I think she's nice, but next time I want to try to give a little more sassy attitude

too hot to wear anything but dresses

Too hot. Why would you want to wear anything else? A few ideas.

WTF Shopbop

Really?!?!?!? So I saw the title for this email "Wartime", and I was expecting military inspired jackets with the slouchy pants combo and possible grunge stud gloriousness. Much to my surprise I clicked and saw this....I must not be hip enough to appreciate this look. Really. Really?!?!?!?!?

This has been Really!?!?!?!?! with Anna. Thank you and have a good Thursday.

For the link to see the rest of the looks check it out, some are better than this one atleast.

Face or no face?

Illustrators each have their own style. Some include detailed facial features and others get all stylized and cartoon crazy. Will continue to explore this topic with future sketches.

You've gotta start somewhere

I want to draw everyday, but I make up silly excuses and I end up empty handed. So now I have a place to put all my daily scribbles! Yay!
