Fashion Sketches
Drawing from live models with a time limit is sometimes good and sometimes really bad but sometimes really good. I like it because it makes me just draw and think less.

The limit to your love
Shoes. need I say more? Inspiration was in this luscious pose. She makes me want to wear a sequin red jumper. seriously.
Imagine Me: NEON piping with nude leather and wooden platform.
Pose for the project

No matter what, heels are always instant chic!

Color my mind when I sleep
Watercolors are so fabulous
I love this technique of doing more spontaneous sketches! I put the water color on the page and then used a pencil to sketch the figure
Yay for experimenting, drawing and friday!!!!

"daydreaming" let's take a trip
Salut! Nous s'appelons Michelle, Coco et Sophie!
So excited these ladies are finished! Now I want them to jump off the page outfits sewn and finished!
My drawing area sometimes gets crazy when I work on a project... but seriously, this is how I like to work!!

All the single ladies
Art is everywhere
I bought a book to read and when I ended up hating it, I started sketching in it instead. ha! It turned out to be a fun project. So now there are random pieces of art in a not so predictable looking sketchbook.

Life Drawing-I heart vine charcoal
Cool progression starting with blind contours. The one on the left looks alien-like. But its one of my FAVORITE exercises for warming up the hand-eye connection.
This is my favorite sketch. I actually started using different line quality in the right areas.
This sketch involves looking and drawing only the MASS, no lines. This was harder for me. I was trying to draw lines and I needed to focus on shadow and shapes of the model.
And of course, short 1 and 3 minute gesture drawings. MOTION. MOVEMENT. LIFE.
Class was exhausting, but I had a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. I felt like I was one of the masters really studying the figure. (corny and cheesy I know)

Work it.
If you've got it, flaunt it. I LOVE this girls curl. WOW. the hard part is figuring out how to render it.
Looking through rose colored glasses
Since the face is a focal point I wanted to be sure to convey the right mood.
I discovered that i'm in love with a 6B pencil.

late night discovery
I stumbled upon this website before heading to bed and I just couldn't resist. I thought drawing with a mouse would be soooooo much harder, but SURPRISE! not bad at all...
so after you draw something you get to swap it for something someone else has drawn - which is neat I think. Clever little title on this one.

Just imagine...
I have started on buffing up my portfolio because all it has in it are school projects. Blah. I am only working on preliminary sketches so far but I wanted to share what i've been working on
I was inspired by a million different things (as always). I am loving the breton stripe. Think: classic Parisian silhouette with edge. I wanted these girls to have an attitude but to be comfy. I love stripes so I wanted to use those for my patterns to mix with tweed, fur and silk.

sorry about the picture quailty! I promise to start scanning....
Girl 1: Breton Strip top with Harem pants, cowl neck scarf and Awesome bag
Girl 2: Her favorite men's dress shirt with highwaisted tweed pants
Girl 3: Silk dress w/mirco-pleated skirt paired with a striped cardi + belt!
I am unsure of the middle girls outfit. Imagine her vest like this fabulous furry vest:
I feel like that makes a difference. But, your comments and suggestions are welcome.
This may sound weird but I'm excited to draw all the technical flat sketches for these designs!
It just started raining. Wish I could stay home and draw......
